The University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship, Sweden 2015

The University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship is funded by the Swedish Council for Higher Education.
The scholarship is aimed at applicants who have to pay tuition fees for their studies at the University of Gothenburg. It will be offered for Master programmes starting the academic year 2015/2016.
The application form will be published on this web page December 1st. Please note that it will not be possible to submit the application before this date. The application deadline for the University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship will be February 2, 2015.

Scholarship coverage

The scholarship covers the tuition fee for the student’s study programme. Please note that it cannot be used for living expenses, housing etc.

Who can apply?

• The scholarship is for students who have to pay tuition fees when they study in Sweden.
  
• Those who have made an application at universityadmissions.se with a last application date of 15 January to one of the Master’s programmes offered by the University of Gothenburg beginning autumn semester 2015.
  

Who cannot apply?

• Students applying for first-cycle (Bachelor’s level) courses or programmes.
  
• If you have been offered any of the scholarships from the Swedish Institute, you will not qualify for the University of Gothenburg study scholarship.
  

Selection procedure

To be eligible for the scholarship selection process, you must meet the entry requirements and be accepted into the programme to which you applied. Scholarships are offered to applicants demonstrating a high level of academic performance. The selection process consists of an assessment made by academic and administrative staff at the University.
If you have applied to the University of Gothenburg as your first choice, you will be given priority.
The selection process is administered during early spring, i.e. during the same period of time that the applications for programme studies are processed. Notifications are sent out via e-mail around the same time as the admission notifications are distributed.
Scholarship offers are only valid for studies starting in the semester for which you have applied – it is not possible to defer an offer.

Application instructions

When submitting your scholarship application, you must include the following documents:

• Application form
  
• Copy of your passport
  
• CV
  
• Letter of motivation (approx. 500 words)
  
• Cover sheet from the application made at www.universityadmssions.se
  

Please note that your academic qualifications must be submitted to University Admissions in Sweden along with your other supporting documents for the programme to which you have applied, according to the instructions at universityadmssions.se. The University of Gothenburg will have automatic access to your academic qualifications – we kindly ask you not to attach them to your application for the University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship. Only the documents described above must be submitted.

Filling out the application form

When filling out the application form, it is very important that you state the correct application number received when creating a user account at universityadmissions.se. If this is not stated, it might not be possible to identify your application. It also required to state in the application whether you intent to stay in an OECD country after you have finished your studies. Please note that this will have no effect on the selection process – it is purely for statistical reasons.
You can type directly into the application form. When this has been done, please print it, sign it and scan the document. Attach the application form along with your supporting documents to an e-mail and send it to internationalstudent@gu.se. Write “Application for the University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship 2015” in the subject field.

Avant de soumettre une demande en ligne, vous devez d'abord présenter une demande au programme de Master à  l'Université de Göteborg : universityadmissions.se  avant le 15 Janvier 2015.  La demande de bourse d'étude ) l'Université de Göteborg  doivent parvenir à la Université de Göteborg au plus tard  2 Février 2015 .
